Community Group Objectives

A couple of weeks ago we sat down as a group and came up with these "objectives." Add some comments if you think we should add more or tweek the existing objectives.

1. Encourage other's spiritual formation and growth.

2. Make needs known and pray for each other.

3. Be service-orientated.

4. Function as "the church" by sharing life together, working as a support network, being vulnerable with each other, and serving each other.

5. Grow our relationships outside our weekly meetings.

6. Worship as a group by opening with prayer and praise and by studying and focusing on the Word of God.

7. Encourage one-on-one discipling inside and outside of our group.

8. Pray for our group as a whole, outside of our weekly meetings.

9. Make it a priority to have diversity within our group.

10. Laugh.

Thoughts..

I found this quote a while back, thought about it recently, and well:

“Laughter is the closest thing to the grace of God” - KB

and thought to myself that there might be some truth to this. I think I might even look into it a little deeper, until then I want to leave you with this:

-I am not Catholic, but I did give up picking my belly button for lint.-

I hope you had some sort of glimpse of the grace of God in that, if not you'll just have to work on your sense of humor or tell me a better joke. Better yet, I challenge the community to put up their best joke so we can all laugh, because it just might be "the closest thing to the grace of God."

To The Ladies

Hey girls i was going to tell yall about the groves womens christmas party on December the 7th. It is at the Christ on Campus building i think at 7. Sorry I haven't told yall sooner.

Also we need to set a time to drink some wine:) I'm such a poet! Let me know what times are best for yall. I know Suzanne graduates on the 14th woo hooo! That is awesome! So any ways...lets see if we cant work it out, if not before christmas soon after.

The best night of my life!!!

Jake got us tickets to see my favorite singer of all time, Garth Brooks. He didn't get just tickets, though. We had FLOOR seats!!! I could have touched Garth...if I was a creepy stalker... Check out these pics. I have the greatest boyfriend in the world!!!

Thanksgiving meal plans...

We are planning to have our Thanksgiving meal on November 18th at our house...3:00 pm. Call if you don't know where we live or need directions.

Weekend plans

Thanks Jennifer for taking the lead on this.

Got a question for all of you. Anyone want to do anything this weekend. For once I really don't have any Friday or Saturday plans and I would rather not spend the entire weekend at home housecleaning or some such. So anyone want to go see a movie or do something else fun and community building?
